Welcoming Alex Gutierrez to the Alliance Board of Directors

Alex Gutierrez

Alex is a senior outreach manager for Mayor Mike Johnston, with over a decade of campaign organizing experience—including Johnston's mayoral run, where he served as Regional Organizing Director. Born in Los Angeles to parents from Aguascalientes, México, he brings a lifelong commitment to community empowerment and building a more inclusive future through civic engagement and public service.

What interests you about The Alliance?

I was captivated by its community gatherings during “Songs for a Sacred Earth” and I wanted to learn more. In that search, I learned that The Alliance Center brings together community organizations, businesses, and leaders to work towards practical solutions for sustainability and social impact. The organization has a great history and a diverse board to put our heads together to do the most good that we can!

Why did you decide to join the team?

I joined The Alliance Center Board due to its mission aligning with my passion for building partnerships, engaging communities, and working to make an impact in the climate space. Of course, like many, I was also encouraged by Jeff Ackermann who I have gotten to know in my work at the city and his work with Together Colorado. I’m excited for what the future can bring working alongside such a great team!
