More Connected Than Ever: What Our 2026 Community Survey Told Us
Each year, we ask the Alliance community, “is the Alliance actually making a difference in your work and life?” In July 2026, more of you answered our survey than ever before, and what you told us was worth celebrating!
The Alliance Center is Building Community
The numbers this year are the clearest sign yet that something real is happening here. 77% of survey respondents told us their “sense of community” has grown stronger because of the Alliance, up from 39% last year. And 61% of respondents feel “like a stronger, more effective change agent” because of involvement with the Alliance Center, a jump of about a third since 2025.
These responses reflect something we hear regularly: The Alliance Center is a place where people find their people. One community member put it simply:
“Now more than ever people need community and places for people to gather in community. The Alliance Center is that place where those concerned about environmental protection, advancing sustainability, mitigating climate change, defending democracy and so much more can develop strategy and make plans to work together.”
Collaboration Is Happening, and It's Lasting
One of the most encouraging trends this year is how many people are finding real collaborative partners at the Alliance Center. 72% of community members said the Alliance has “contributed to [their] collaboration with others,” and when we asked what came out of those collaborations, the most common answer by far was “an ongoing relationship.”
We heard about new partnerships, co-hosted events, job connections, and projects that only came together because two people happened to cross paths in our space. One member shared:
"I have been more intentional in keeping others in the loop with my work, because you never know when collaboration can happen!"
Our tenant community in particular expressed satisfaction. Tenants had a Net Promoter Score of 71, well above our goal of 40, and 98% said they're satisfied with their experience here. When we asked what the Alliance has meant for their organizations, several told us plainly that they would not have been able to collaborate as easily, host as many meetings, or grow as quickly without this space.
What You're Asking For: More People, More Often
If there's one theme that came through loud and clear across survey responses, it's that our community wants more opportunities to gather. Free Coworking Day with a mid-morning “Cafecito” (coffee hour) remains our most popular community-wide touchpoint, and many folks told us they’d love to see even more low barrier, drop in opportunities to connect, from entrepreneur-focused meetups to a dedicated space for women in climate leadership. Cafecitos and Lunch and Learns came up again and again too, especially among tenants, with people telling us that simply having more folks around is what draws them into the space more often.
How We’re Responding
We’re busy making changes and plans based on what we learned:
We’re serving up a regular new lunch and learn series called “Lunch, Unpacked” that will bring both tenants and the wider community together to challenge assumptions, explore emerging ideas, and build deeper relationships.
We’ve begun hosting smaller weekly tenant Cafecitos to compliment our larger monthly community meet ups on coworking days
We launched a collaborative community calendar where community members and tenants can share upcoming climate-relatedevents; and our community can find ways to support each other. (Add your next event to our community calendar here)
Looking Ahead
This year's survey confirmed what we've believed all along: community isn't something we build once. It's something we tend to, event by event, conversation by conversation, relationship by relationship. The growth we saw this year, in connection, in collaboration, in confidence, tells us that intentional investment in bringing people together works.
