The Alliance Center was founded with a simple purpose – to bring people together to solve systemic problems. Our mission is to demonstrate sustainability in action and mobilize change agents to accelerate solutions. Our Impact Dashboard is designed to show exactly how we do it.

We align our work with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) developed by the United Nations to ensure our local actions are relevant and measurable at the global scale. Our work directly advances the seven goals highlighted below.

Partnerships for the Goals Partnership For The Goals Responsible Consumption and Production Sustainable Cities and Communities Reduced Inequities Climate Action Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure Affordable and Clean Energy Partnership For The Goals Responsible Consumption and Production Sustainable Cities and Communities Reduced Inequities Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure Affordable and Clean Energy Climate Action

As you scroll, you will see the SDGs we’re tackling here at The Alliance Center and the specific projects that align with each goal.

SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals

Our social enterprise supports approximately 50 tenant organizations who aligned with our mission. We host 400 events on average with over 17,000 attendees each year in our certified green event space. Together, we are partnering to accomplish the goal of a sustainable future for all.

SDG 13: Climate Action

Greenhouse gas emission reduction

As the highest scoring LEED Platinum (EBOM) certified project in the state, we demonstrate how climate action is possible, practical and personal.

SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production

As national leaders in waste diversion, we integrate responsible consumption into all aspects of our operations.

SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities

Climate+

Climate+ Democracy is a program of The Alliance Center which mobilizes agents of change to fight the climate crisis through civic engagement and tangible actions.

SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities

Our vision is a truly equitable, inclusive and sustainable future. We are committed to weaving diversity, equity and inclusion into our culture. We recognize this work is a long journey, and the best place to start was internal reflection, growth, and training. This has better prepared the Alliance team to create systems of equity within sustainability. In 2020, we are launching our Sustainability Skills Initiative, which aims to diversify the sustainability movement.

SDG 9: Industry, Innovation AND Infrastructure

Best for Colorado

Best for Colorado, a program of The Alliance Center, invites all Colorado companies to measure and improve their social and environmental impact, helping to advance sustainable and innovative practices across industries.

SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy

Living Laboratory

Living Laboratory is a program that is designed to pilot innovative, scalable solutions that increase clean energy and resiliency in the commercial building sector, as well as improve the lives of building occupants.
