2004 - The Alliance for Sustainable Colorado is Established

In 2004 John Powers, a longtime board member of the Colorado Environmental Coalition, and Janna Six co-founded the nonprofit Alliance for Sustainable Colorado (now The Alliance Center) and purchased the building from Tattered Cover. The vision was to create a physical hub where local public-interest groups could pool resources on projects. It would provide an incubator for collaboration offering traditionally tight-budgeted nonprofits an opportunity to share ideas with like-minded advocacy groups, as well as reduce expenses.
