In June 2014, The Alliance Center completed its renovation to create a healthy, environmentally-friendly workspace and demonstrate innovation in the built environment. The renovation effectively gutted the building to increase energy efficiency, human productivity and collaboration. The open office design increased capacity from 130 desks to 260 desks. A coffee and wine bar plus 18 meeting rooms were incorporated into the design. The main entrance was moved from the side of the building back to its original “storefront” location on the sidewalk. The all-glass entry now welcomes people into a multi-purpose, versatile event center where Serendipity serves coffee, tea, beer, wine and light food options. A commercial kitchen is available to all users of the building. A retractable glass wall can be stacked to open an event space in the lobby that seats 200.
