To protect the health of our building’s community, we have closed the Hard to Recycle Station for the time being. As of January 2021, the station remains closed. We will make an announcement when we are able to reopen it once again!

Below, we have alternative Hard to Recycle options. Also, you can check out Recycle Almost Everything as a one-stop-shop for your Hard to Recycle needs! With the situation changing daily, you will need to check and see if these facilities are still open at this time. Thank you for your understanding and dedication to waste reduction!

BATTERIES

SustainAbility |Sealed lead acid, LI-ion Laptop batteries, APC/UPS backup units.

WRITING UTENSILS

  • Unfortunately, there are no alternative facilities in and around the Denver Metro Area we are aware of besides shipping to TerraCycle.
  • If you have a large collection that has ZERO contamination, we can provide you with a shipping label so you can send your recyclables directly to TerraCycle. The items must be pre-sorted and ONLY include writing utensils.
  • We must see the collection in-person before providing a label. If there are ANY contaminants, we cannot accept or provide a shipping label. Contaminants aren’t as common for this stream, but if you are feeling unsure please ask.
  • Contact us directly to inquire about receiving a label.

PET FOOD AND TREAT BAGS

If the pet food bag is ONLY made out of plastic, it can be recycled with other plastic bags (see those details above).

  • Unfortunately, there are no alternative facilities in and around the Denver Metro Area we are aware of besides shipping to TerraCycle.
  • If you have a large collection that has ZERO contamination, we can provide you with a shipping label so you can send your recyclables directly to TerraCycle. The items must be pre-sorted and ONLY include foil-lined bags and wrappers.
  • We must see the collection in-person before providing a label. If there are ANY contaminants, we cannot accept or provide a shipping label. Common contaminants include: food, crumbs, plastic without foil, and bags with wax or clear coating.

CLEANING PRODUCTS

Alternative facilities are limited for this one, and it is not a stream we are offering shipping labels for during the closure. Any EMPTY bottles (without spray pump) can likely be placed in household recycling.
