2021 Crew Leadership for Ecological Restoration at Poudre Learning Center

Learn the value and basic practice of ecological restoration and how to motivate and lead others in restoration tasks during this two-day, weekend workshop April 17-18. The cost of this training is $100, but discounted and free spaces are reserved for qualified or local, Weld County volunteers. Contact outreach@voc.org for more information.

2021 Earth Week Summit: What a Difference 90 Days Makes! (And How About 180?)

Join Green Team Academy for the 3rd Annual Earth Week Summit with this year’s theme of “Teams & Trees”. In this initial webinar at 9AM MST, you’ll find out about the proven 90-day approach for launching your environmental or community initiative. Then you’ll find out what the top teams from the 2020 International Climate Action Challenge have achieved since their start date of September 1, 2020! This will be followed by a virtual happy hour at 10:30 MST. These events are free and open to all!

Clear Creek Cleanup: Earth Week 2021

Volunteers will help pick up litter along the Clear Creek Trail and near Tabor Lake, Bass Lake and West Lake. Participants will begin at Prospect Park and move west towards the Wheat Ridge Greenbelt Youngfield entrance, which is about a half mile in length. This event is a collaboration between The City of Wheat Ridge, Sustainable Wheat Ridge, Localworks and Institute for Environmental Solutions.

Recycling Poster Contest

All of Colorado’s K-12 students are invited to showcase their artistic talent and their commitment to recycling by participating in Recycle Colorado’s 14th Annual Recycling Poster Contest! The entry deadline is April 25. One grand-prize winner will receive a $100 gift card, their school will receive a $200 gift card for room supplies and their artwork will be used in Colorado to promote recycling and celebrate Colorado Recycles Week in November!

Lakewood Annual Earth Day Celebration

Featuring a mix of public art, educational opportunities, community-building activities, individual sustainability actions and highlights from partners about their own sustainability efforts, this year’s Earth Day Celebration will premiere online and around the community on April 17. Activity lineup includes chalk art installations at Heritage Lakewood Belmar Park, free giveaways of upcycled Earth Day yard signs and energy conservation kits with LED lightbulbs and additional resources, LandMark public art exhibit opening and more!

International EcoEthics Summit

International EcoEthics Summit brings together scientists, academicians, diplomats, government heads, businesses and youth from across the globe. Together participants will discuss climate change, its impact globally and the possible solutions like sustainability, circular economy, zero waste efforts and more.
