2021 Earth Day Challenge Run/Walk – Thornton
Join the Virtual Run Club Challenge and log miles by running or walking to meet the team goal of 24,901 miles in April. The goal is that during the month of April (Earth Day Month) we will collectively see how many times we can run the distance of the equator 24,901 miles!
Websites for the Planet™ 2021 Applications Now Open
Audere Design Co. believes in giving back to the planet we call home. As a way to expand their impact as a small business, they started the Websites for the Planet™ program where they donate their time and expertise each year to create a WordPress website for an eco-minded nonprofit. Applications are open to nonprofits worldwide who help our planet and the people in it. They’ll be accepting applications from April 1-May 31, 2021. The 2021 recipient will be announced on Friday, June 4, 2021.
Localizing SDG 13: Cities leading on climate action through the voluntary local review
Join ICLEI in partnership with the Connected Cities Lab at University of Melbourne during U.S. Climate Week for a discussion on the SDG Cities Challenge, a city-to-city cohort learn-do model that is scaling VLR adoption through international city-to-city collaboration. We will be joined by representatives of leading U.S. cities Pittsburgh and Orlando, alongside a cadre of Texas communities represented by University of Texas at Arlington. You will learn how these cities are putting the VLRs to work advancing climate action through sustainability data, cross-departmental collaboration, community involvement and finance.

Raise the Alarm about Climate (Legislative delivery)
Help us deliver smoke detectors, a (road)map to escape Colorado’s climate crisis, and a letter in support of SB21-200 to our elected officials. This bill is the best chance we have to act locally to combat the climate crisis! We must show our strong support. We’ll meet, masks on & socially distanced, just inside the Southern entrance to the Capitol.
