Green Building

The Alliance Center has many years of experience operating a high performance historical building that balances the needs of occupants against building performance. Areas where we have specific knowledge include green cleaning, mechanical system performance, waste reduction, electrical submetering and more. In addition to building operations experience, our team also has extensive knowledge around green building certifications, specifically LEED Existing Buildings, given our three Platinum certifications. If you seek an owners/operators perspective on these areas, we are happy to share our knowledge. 

Meet Our Expert: Chris Bowyer

Chris has been at The Alliance Center for six years. He earned his bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from Virginia Tech, and he is a LEED Accredited Professional, Operations + Maintenance (LEED AP O+M). Chris is responsible for keeping The Alliance Center operating efficiently and helped us earn our most recent LEED Platinum certification.

Through geographic information systems (GIS), The Alliance Center creates customized, effective and beautiful spatial visualization tools to help you influence your audience and accelerate lasting solutions. Products we can create for you include web-based maps, mobile applications and GIS story maps.

Meet Our Expert: Isabel Mendoza

Isabel grew up surrounded by the natural beauty of the tropics in Ecuador. Her love for nature brought her to Colorado where she earned a bachelor’s degree in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Colorado Boulder and a master’s in environmental science and policy and a graduate certificate in geographic information systems (GIS) from Johns Hopkins University. Isabel draws on her background to develop cutting-edge data visualizations as innovative tools for storytelling. She designs these tools to reach diverse audiences and encourage positive impact on the world. Event Logistics

Work with our events team to ensure your next event reflects your organization’s commitment to sustainability and enhances your brand. We operates a certified green event space serving over 450 events a year inside a LEED Platinum certified building. Leveraging this experience, we can help your event leads craft the necessary plans for a successful, sustainable event and connect you with providers who have a proven track record in this area. We provide everything from templates to consulting feedback to a curated list of providers to ensure your event is as sustainable as possible.
