Earth Week 2020

Join the City of Denver and USPS for a special Earth Week kickoff event! City officials will share opening remarks and the postal service will officially release their new commemorative Earth Day 50th Anniversary stamp. A special volunteer cleanup event along the South Platte River will follow the festivities.

A “community table” promotes action for public good by bringing individuals together to deliberate about issues such as healthcare, climate change, education access and more. When you sign up to host a Community Table, you’ll join hundreds of other people who know that problems are solved by communities, that communities thrive when we work together and that community begins with conversation.

We humans are a force of nature. At the same time human activities alter the basic elements of life – earth, air, water, and fire – those elements change human life.

In an arresting new documentary from the producers of RACING EXTINCTION, THE COVE and CHASING ICE, environmental photographer James Balog captures the lives of everyday Americans on the front lines of climate change. EDENS is excited to announce that we will be hosting an Earth Day event at our property in the RiNo Neighborhood on Wednesday, April 22 from 2-5 p.m.

The theme of this event will be centered around sustainable practices in an urban setting as well as conservation at large. We are reaching out to key environmental groups in Denver and inviting them to host booths in order to educate the public about their mission and teach individuals about how to get involved at a local level. The event will also include live music to celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month and the upcoming Jazz Festival in the Five Points neighborhood.

We would be thrilled for you to join us at this event and help make Earth Day a true celebration in RiNo.

Celebrate Earth Day’s 50th anniversary with an evening of insightful conversation focused on innovation, technology, policy and effective communication strategies to address climate change. Denver7 Chief Meteorologist Mike Nelson will lead a moderated panel discussion and an audience Q&A including:

• Dr. Paul Denholm, Principal Analyst at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory
• Alice Jackson, President of Xcel Energy Colorado
• Dr. Dione Rossiter, executive director of Science at Cal – Lawrence Hall of Science

Millions of people across the globe have taken to the streets in recent months to demand power holders take immediate action to address the devastating effects of climate change. This event will feature leading climate activists in a conversation about what these movements have achieved, and what still must be done.

Climate change is the greatest challenge of our collective lifetime. This also makes it our greatest opportunity to unite across generations and political divides. Join The Alliance Center and Peace Jam for an all-female panel of youth leaders, climate leaders, government leaders and a Nobel Peace Laureate to explore how climate change can unite us and the most effective levers for change through civic action.

Join PeaceJam for their first youth-led climate summit. This event is open to youth and adults across Colorado and will feature Nobel Peace Prize winner, Betty Williams. The Summit will bring youth voices to the forefront on local environmental issues such as plastic pollution, water justice and renewable energy.
